An Inexhaustible Supply of Free Scoops: Plastic Milk Jugs

The fun part of reusing something is not only are you keeping something out of our overburdened solid waste system — you’re saving money.
Here’s a perfect example. Now that we’re all back in the garden, there are plenty of times you’ll need a scoop. Whether it’s measuring out fertilizer or loading a bird feeder, a discarded milk jug will do the trick. You want the kind with a screw top. Just use a craft knife to remove the bottom of the jug (cut at a scoopy angle), wash it thoroughly, and replace the cap. Leave the handle intact.
You’re ready to go! A buck or two saved, and some plastic rescued from the landfill.
