When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Cleaners

By Chris Baskind in The Daily Footstep

Chances are, your cabinet is filled with powerful chemical cleaners. But consider the lowly lemon: fresh smelling, natural — and an effective grease cutter. Leverage its power to reduce the chemicals in your life. Fill a spray bottle with tap water and about 2 ounces of lemon juice to make an all-purpose class and surface cleaner. Add a little lemon juice to your wash to brighten whites. And castile soap with lemon juice will do a great job on the dishes.

  • Even before the lowly lemon, try seltzer/soda water. Regardless, all are equally cheap and can have surprising success.
  • I tried that with a wine stain, and it actually worked. Good tip, Roland.
