Camping: The Original Ecotourism

By Chris Baskind in The Daily Footstep

Spring Break season is just around the corner. But with money tight this year, maybe it’s time to reconsider camping — the original ecotourism. A basic camping kit can be had for about the same cost as a day at a traditional resort. Campsite fees are a fraction of what you’d spend for a hotel, leaving you plenty of time to relax and see the sites. Start with Craigslist, rummage sales, or your local thrift shop before buying gear, though personal items like sleeping bags should be purchased new. The best part is that once you’ve started your camping kit, it will be available year-round. Enjoy your green — and affordable — outdoor getaway!
