Leaving Your PC On at Night Doesn’t Compute

Once upon a time, home computers were cantankerous creatures happy to cop an attitude anytime they booted up. That’s less the case today, so unless you have a PC with known issues, it pays to turn it off at night. How much does it pay? Depends on your hardware and other factors, but the potential savings are considerable. At the very least, use your operating system’s power saving features to turn off the monitor after 20 minutes, and the whole computer after 2 hours of inactivity.
