Wrapping Up Christmas

By Chris Baskind in Christmas, Holidays, The Daily Footstep

Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to clean up the mess. But what to do with all that used wrapping paper? Thanks to heavy inks, coatings, and metallic surfaces, wrapping paper isn’t a good candidate for the compost heap or — in most cases — recycling. But here’s one way to resuse this season’s paper: as padding for next year’s packages. Extra points if you have a paper shredder and cut it into decorative strips. Just be sure to remove staples, tape, and tags first.
