It’s not too late to enjoy the benefits of better -insulated hot water pipes this winter. The savings are actually year-round, and most upgrades will easily pay for themselves within a year. Inexpensive, pre-slit insulation is available at most hardware stores. The first three feet beyond your tank are the most critical, but keep insulation at least six inches from the heater if it’s gas.Not comfortable with do-it-yourself insulation? Call a pro.
