Off Should Really Mean Off

Just because something is switched off, don’t assume it’s not drawing power. Home electronics in standby mode may consume up to two thirds of their operational power, and tranformers are constant power vampires. Unplug chargers when not in use, or plug them into a smart strip that shuts down outlets when idle. If you don’t feel like springing for a smart strip, connect small devices to a standard power strip and you’ll only have one plug to manage.
